About Us
We are a small firm of Chartered Accountants dedicated to client service.
We have invested heavily in technology which enables us to give clients the service that they have a right to expect.
The software that we use is leading edge and we are currently in the process of integrating all of the various pieces of software that we use for tax returns, Corporation Tax, Accounts production, Company Secretarial, and all of the other matters that a modern firm of Chartered Accountants offers.
To give you some idea of the power of the systems that we use, we are notified automatically by Companies House when documents are filed on any of the client companies that we act for, with an automatic check on whether we know about them. This protects clients from identity theft, which is becoming more common by the week.
We are also part of a leading International network of accountants, who have members all over the World, and who specialise in assisting SME’s to maximise their profits and to run their businesses more efficiently.
Our commitment to keeping up to date in all fields is total; we spend about 10% of our time on an annual basis in attending lectures, reading updates and software training.
The team is led by Cliff Jenner, who has many years experience in the general practice sector. Most of his professional life has been spent in general practice, after having worked for some years with the finance department of an International Plc.
He therefore has first hand knowledge in handling a whole range of problems that clients meet in the course of their business.
He sets high standards for the team and for himself, all of it centred around what it is that clients need and want.
He realised some years ago that accountants are not just about “doing the accounts for the tax”. Computers and general higher standards have seen to that.
Because of that he embraced the new thinking that about 10 years ago was beginning to make itself felt in the profession. A major investment was made in training and software to use the new resources for the benefit of clients.
We are constantly looking for technical developments to assist us in helping clients and to enable us to become more efficient.
In conjunction with some participating clients, we are currently rolling out a programme of remote access of clients accounting systems so that we can sort out problems that have arisen with their systems without leaving the office.
In this way we not only save time, and therefore client fees, but we save on energy costs as well.
Having said all of that it is important to say that while technology is wonderful and advancing at an ever increasing rate, it is there to make our lives easier and better. The most important thing at the end of the day is that it enables us and our clients to grow their businesses.
Finally, a lesson that Cliff learnt some years ago:
There are only 4 ways to grow ANY business, these are:
- Increase the number of customers (of the type that you want)
- Increase the amount they spend
- Increase the number of times that they come back
- Improve the systems within the business to enable you to achieve the above
The people who make real money are those who work ON their business rather than IN it.
